Gwen
Named for my wonderful Grandmother who’s birthday it was yesterday. The Gwen Dress is made from one of her 1940s vintage table linen pieces and a length of 1920s embroidered tape (used as inserts at the bodice side seams and on the tie straps). The Bodice is made from an appliquéd table linen panel, and I really didn’t want to loose the appliqué when cutting. As with lots of what we do, the size of the garment is determined by the size of the fabric we have. The skirt is made from a vintage cotton sheet with a blue thread selvedge running across the bottom. With a lovely full skirted shape and tie straps, this is an easy fitting and pretty sun dress.
